Temira means hidden. It means shadow. The shadow aspect, according to Jung, is that part of you that you try to hide from yourself. It’s often though of as the evil or sinister pat of yourself, but that’s not always the case. For people who have not only survived sexual trauma but endured the shame that often comes with it, this part of their life becomes a shadow – always following us, always there. I am a survivor, and in fact, I sometimes thrive. I volunteer to help others find their way out of the shadow, just as I’m looking for my own way.
